Day 1 at the Clinic (Video)

Day 1 At Doing Mission Work

This is the first day at that clinic.  We where not sure if we would be returning there tomorrow.  It all depened on the medicines so it looks like we will be back for a second day.

Day 3 (The Trip to get the Meds)

Well day 3 is finished and it has been different exciting and God filled. It started very early with Betsy and I leaving for San Salvador with Pastor Juan. We did no know what to expect but left with an open mind and a list of government officials to visit. We started our processes to free our meds from the government with a stop at the Ministry of Health and discovered we need the President of that board’s signature first. The secretary was so helpful giving us direction. From there we went to the White House to get El President Signature on our document can you imagine getting our Presidents signature? Thanks to Pastor Juan and his connections we got it and along with a medical visa we are set to go to customs and retrieve our meds early tomorrow. Betsy, Juan and I learned a lot and had fun with the team when we told them we went to the White House. We did get the presidents signature but we let them think we met him and did not give in till after dinner.

We love this team and there dedication to do God’s work.

While we were in San Salvador the rest of the team went top the clinic to see patients with the few meds and glasses that were left from previous missions. Again God is so good they saw over 200 patient visits between the doctors. Our new moto is “everything is subject to change”.

This day we saw God in so many happenings, the release of meds normally takes up to 3 months He made it happen in 8 Hours, our clinic was blessed with all they needed to start and see so many in need when we did not think so many would show, and the host are wonderful in helping and. supplying our needs. Last evening at devotion God’s presence was here and I thank Him for Rufus and the training he gave us to continue this mission, God Bless you Rufus.

It is getting late and morning will come early, thank you all for your continued prayer so until tomorrow night pleasant dreams and blessings.

Jim and Betsy.

Day 2 (A Day Of Team Building)

Hello everyone,

What a wonderful day!!!  It was full of exciting and new adventures. First we went to a geo-thermal area where the “earth was breathing and bubbling” and it was COOL, or should I say HOT! I didn’t realize these volcanoes were still active here…YIKKES!  The last volcanic eruption here was 2006.   Next we went UP..UP..UP..the mountain to a little town for shopping.  There were a lot of people, music and food, horse carriage rides, clowns, iguana on a leash and photos with a BIG boa constrictor.  Had a beautiful lunch with the biggest shrimp we have ever seen.  The shrimp came with the head and shell still intact…YUMMY!!!  More shopping after lunch then on to church.  We went to Pastor Juan’s original church, which now has a woman pastor.  A group of college students from University of South Carolina here on spring break also joined us at the church.  They sang and played instruments to entertain during the service.  Their enthusiasm was uplifting and their voices beautiful.  Supper was at “Pupusa Loca” , we ate pupusa’s which were tortilla shells filled with your choice of anything.

Tomorrow Pastor Juan, Jim and Betsy will travel to San Salvador to speak to the “President” in hopes of getting our medicine and equipment.  The rest of the team will be working hard at Pastor Juan’s clinic a few miles away.  We hope to see many patients tomorrow.  Pray for Jim, Betsy and Pastor Juan.

Betsy sends hugs and kisses to Bill and Lacey.  Michele says “Hi” to my family, Phil, Pam, Mark and my baby grandson Connor.  Also to Jenifer and June who are holding down the fort. I miss everyone!!
